Edo state chapter of the the All Progressives Congress, APC says the report making rounds in the media that the party has disqualified some of its governorship aspirants is untrue and a misinformation to the general public and members of the party.

The state publicity secretary of the party, Peter Uwadiae who disclosed this to journalists during a press conference at the party secretariat in Benin city said the APC only set up an advisory committee to help advise the aspirants on the need for some of them to step down before the party’s primaries due to the large number of those aspiring to secure the party’s ticket in order to prevent chaos and acrimony

In the past few days, there have been rumours and speculations that the All Progressives Congress APC has disqualified some of its governorship aspirants by a committee headed by professor Julius Ihonvbere.

The speculations have however raised tensions among supporters of the governorship aspirants affected.
But the state APC through its publicity secretary Peter Uwadiae says the party did not disqualify any aspirant .

The party says all governorship aspirants in the APC who met all the requirements were eligible to Contest the primaries slated for next month.

For now, the Edo APC is trying to dot the I’s and cross the T’s to ensure there will not be bitterness after the primaries among those aspirants who will fall by the wayside.
