The Peoples Democratic Party PDP has criticised the directive of the Attorney General of the Federation, in a leaked letter, requesting that the Inspector General of Police provides security for members- elect of the Edo State House of Assembly.
Citing sections of the Nigerian Constitution, the National Publicity secretary of the party, Kola Ologbodiyan describes the move of the federal attorney general as an arbitration.
The party claims the contents of the letter is capable of inciting violence in the already heated state.

The PDP however urged the IGP to disregard the request of the AGF in the interest of democracy and Peace in Edo state.
