As construction of the first flyover at Ramat Park in Benin City reaches 60% completion, the Edo State Government has commenced work on the second flyover located along the busy Benin–Sapele–Warri Road by Adesuwa Junction.

According to the government, these projects are part of a long-term plan to modernize road infrastructure and build durable systems capable of supporting the state’s growing population

On May 14, 2025, the Edo State Executive Council approved the construction of the second flyover at Adesuwa Junction.

Following the approval, the council immediately released 25% of the total project funds to mobilize the contractor.

A recent visit to the site shows that the contractor has deployed both men and heavy equipment, with construction work already progressing steadily, just days after the kick off.

Engineer Williams Bello, Special Adviser to Governor Okpebholo on Project Implementation and Monitoring, who visited the construction site appealed to residents to exercise patience as construction continues.

With work advancing rapidly on both the Ramat Park and Adesuwa Junction flyovers, Governor Okpebholo’s administration is already setting its sights on a proposed third flyover to be constructed at Dawson Junction by Akpakpava Road.

Upon completion, the Adesuwa Junction flyover will significantly reduce traffic congestion in the area, especially during the rainy season, while enhancing smooth vehicular movement across the city.
