COVID-19

The Edo State Government has said that the Frontline workers temporarily engaged IN the screening and testing for COVID-19 in the state, would be paid their outstanding allowances upon the conclusion of their payroll vetting exercise.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, in a statement, said that the taskforce was demobilised across the screening centres at mobile posts, borders and several other locations, after the state exceeded its target to screen five hundred thousand persons and test five thousand.

With the target achieved and surpassed, the State Government had chosen to modify its response to the pandemic.

Crusoe Osagie noted that the screening exercise was massive and crosscutting, with the officials inundated with lists of persons, said to have participated in the exercise.

He revealed that the lists are being vetted before making the final payment before the end of the week.
