Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu and Speaker of the House of Assembly Frank Okiye, have called on Nigerians to voluntarily go for Covid-19 screening and subsequent testing if they have any symptoms of the disease.
They made the call when they paid a visit to boost the morale of Covid-19 patients at the Stella Obasanjo Treatment Centre in Benin City, the state capital.
Members of the State COVID-19 Response Team led by the Chairman of the Technical Sub Committee and Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu and the leadership of the State House of Assembly along with members of the House Committee on Health kitted in Personal Protective Equipment were taken on a guided tour of the treatment facility.
The visitors who interacted with the Covid-19 patients emphasised that the disease is not synonymous with death.
They were also at the Ogbe Nursing Home Holding Centre used for persons whose samples have been taken and are expecting the outcome of their Covid-19 test.
