Deputy speaker of Edo state House of Assembly Yekini Idaiye has been impeached by six members of the house.
He represents Akoko Edo 1 constituency.
The impeachment motion for his removal which was read on the floor of the house was moved by Henry Okhuarobo representing Ikpoba okha constituency and seconded by Marcus Onobun representing Esan West constituency.
The speaker of the house Frank Okiye while acknowledging the need for the change in the house alleged gross misconduct on the part of the former deputy speaker as reason for the impeachment.

He says Roland Asoro representing Orhionwmon south replaces Yekini Idaiye as the deputy speaker while Henry Okhuarobo is now the majority leader and Marcus Onobun representing Esan west replaces Henry Okhuarobo as the chief whip.
Sunday Ojiezele representing Esan South East is now the deputy majority leader.
All seven members at plenary including the speaker are members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, having recently decamped while three other members not at plenary include the former deputy speaker Yekini Idaiye, Nosayaba Okunbor representing Orhionmwon East and Emmanuel Agbaje representing Akoko Edo 2.
