Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law.

Governor Okpebholo, while appending his signature to the ₦939.85 billion budget for the 2026 fiscal year, said the spending plan will propel Edo State to greater heights in development.

Exactly seven days after Governor Okpebholo presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill to the 24 members of the 8th Edo State House of Assembly, lawmakers concluded work on the bill.

The lawmakers did not alter the original sum of ₦939.85 billion presented by the Governor exactly 168 hours ago. The agriculture and works sectors received the highest allocations in the ₦939.85 billion budget.

At about 2:00pm on December 23, principal officers of the Assembly were at Government House to present the bill for the Governor’s assent. Assembly Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, commended Governor Okpebholo for his developmental strides across the state.
