Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, says the State’s environmental laws will henceforth be strengthened to ensure that residents do their bits to keep their surroundings clean at all times.

The Governor made this known when he partook in a state-wide clean up in Benin City.

As part of activities lined up for the second term inauguration of Governor Godwin Obaseki, youths thronged out in large numbers for a state wide clean up exercise.

Governor Obaseki, Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, and the Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Marcus Onobun, joined the youths at the Kingsquare axis of Benin City to ensure that the state capital was free of debris.

The Governor was emphatic that the state must return to being clean and spotless.

Given the vital role young Nigerians have to play in nation building, Obaseki stressed that they must not be taken for granted.

Philip Shaibu and Marcus Onobun, noted that involving youths in critical areas of governance will always be the priority of the state Government.

They said the young men and women have a critical function in the constructive process of building socio- economic prosperity.
