The Governorship candidate of the all progressives Congress APC in the next month’s election in Edo state Senator Monday Okpebholo, has reiterated his commitment to overhauling the education sector if elected.
Okpebholo made the pledged when speaking to residents of Orhionmwon Local Government Area, where he promised to hire 5,000 new teachers to address staffing shortages.
On August 29, which is also Senator Okpebholo’s birthday, the APC candidate and his party used the occasion to campaign in Igbanke, Abudu, and other localities in Orhionmwon local government area, Party leaders celebrated him at a campaign venue in Igbanke.
In a joyful mood, Okpebholo made several promises, including major reforms in education and other sectors.
In response to complaints from Igbanke residents about having to personally fund hired teachers for local schools, the APC candidate vowed to resolve the manpower shortage.

Party leaders urged Orhionmwon residents to cast their votes for Okpebholo as a birthday gift to him, while Senator Adams Oshiomhole criticized the current education policies of the state.
Senator Monday Okpebholo also held meetings with new building materials sellers association in Benin city and the elders of Ewaise community, he told them he is on a rescue mission.
