Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has called on residents of the state to reject Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress, APC at the September 21 governorship election due to the current economic situation which he says has placed many Nigerians in dire straits.

The Governor made the call at a political meeting which held in Benin City.

At the venue in Oredo ward four were stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who gathered to rub minds on issues relating to the September 21 governorship election and their candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

He wants party supporters to ensure that all who participated in the continuous voter registration exercise recently conducted by INEC, collect their PVCs.

He emphasized the need to have PDP continue to provide good governance in the state.

The prevailing economic challenge across the country obaseki insists is one of the reasons he wants the people to reject Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the poll.

According to Obaseki, rather than tell the people what they intend to do to impact their lives positively, the state chapter of the APC has chosen to rely on propaganda and negativity to sell their candidate.

The governor noted that the onus lies on PDP faithful, well meaning Edo indigenes and residents to make sure that the man wen sabi as Ighodalo is fondly called, is elected because he is competent and capable enough to take Edo to greater heights.
