Mass defection has hit the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ahead of the September 21 Governorship election with the political chieftains defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The defectors include two-time Senator from Edo South, Matthew Uhroghide and ex-House of Representatives aspirant from Owan Federal Constituency, Patrick Giwa.
Others are former Clerk of the National Assembly and several ex-council chairmen and vice chairmen under the present PDP administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki in the state among others.
The defectors were officially received by heavyweights of the APC in Edo State at a reception on Saturday in Benin City, the State capital.
