Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has alleged that there are plans to postpone the September 21, 2024 governorship election on the eve of the scheduled date.
The governor made the allegation while addressing leaders and members of the State’s chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress who were in Government house on an appreciation rally and to throw their weight behind the candidacy of PDP’s Asue Ighodalo.
These are leaders and members of the Edo State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, on a thank you rally to Governor Godwin Obaseki in government house.
For them, Governor Obaseki’s far reaching reforms in the state civil and public service which have impacted them positively is worthy of commendation.
To further show their appreciation, they informed the governor of their decision to rally support for the standard bearer of the PDP, Asue Ighodalo.
Ighodalo assured them that his administration if elected, will of sustain the reforms.
Governor Obaseki commended the labour leaders for the cordial working relationship enjoyed by his administration over the years.
Obaseki noted that Edo people have fared better under the PDP led government, and only a continuity of its transformation agenda is good enough for them.
