Logistics issues affected early commencement of election in some parts of Ikpoba Okha and Egor local govt areas of Edo state, leading to accreditation and voting beginning as late as 1pm.
Some INEC officials had to be conveyed in private vehicles from their registration area centres to polling units in Ogida market.
The election day witnessed heavy deployment of security operatives and thorough security checks by security joint teams in different parts of the state.
In Ikpoba-Okha which holds the largest concentration of voters, the situation was not different with other areas of Benin city.
But the downside was the delay in arrival of election materials.
But at Ugbekun primary school housing with over 25 polling units with more than 35,000 voting strength, the story was different as the exercise commenced earlier.
Some voters volunteered to direct others to the right polling units.
