Ahead of the September 19 governorship election in Edo State, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Johnson Alalibo, and beds of various security agencies are meeting in Benin, the state capital.
Before the meeting went behind closed doors, Alalibo disclosed that one million, seven hundred and thirty-five thousand nine hundred and ten Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVCs, have been collected by the registered voters.
The REC added that four hundred and eighty three thousand eight hundred and sixty eight PVCs are yet to be collected.

The meeting is aimed at ensuring the governorship election is devoid of violence particularly in the riverine areas of the state.
