Ahead of this Saturday’s Edo Governorship Election, some candidates in the race have spoken of their plans to govern the people if elected

They made their plans known at a Civil Society Interactive Session by The Africa Network For Environment and Economic Justice, ANEEJ, which held in Benin City.

Candidates and representatives of various political parties in the September 21 Edo Governorship Election are here to engage with journalists and members of civil society organisations on their plans for the state if elected.

Welcoming guests at the forum, the convener and Executive Director, ANEEJ, David Ugolor, says the essence of the event is to provide the candidates opportunity to present their manifestoes and share their plans with the people.

Other guests, including the chairman, Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Festus Alenkhe, Archbishop of the Benin Catholic Diocese, Most Rev Augustine Akubueze, call on the candidates and their representatives to be civil during their engagement.

At the interactive session, the various candidates speak of their plans for the state, discussing issues of security, development, and education.

They assured of a peaceful election as they called on the electorate to come out and exercise their franchise.

All attention is focused on the Edo Governorship Election, which is a few days away.
