The University of Benin Sports Complex saw an impressive turnout of enthusiastic supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC as Vice President Kashim Shettima led high-powered party delegation for the grand finale rally of the Governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, ahead of next week’s election.


Shettima, joined by the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, current and former Governors, and other political leaders, urged voters to support Okpebholo and Idahosa. The candidate also emphasised his commitment to transforming the state through his five-point agenda.
The arrival of Vice President Shettima electrified the enthusiastic crowd, that filled every available space at the campaign rally venue. APC Governors from Nasarawa, Lagos, Cross River, Imo, Ogun, Ondo, Katsina, and Kwara states were part of the Vice President’s entourage while Senate President Akpabio led members of the National Assembly to also attend the final rally.

Their message to the Edo State electorate was a strong call to elect the APC candidate in next week’s Governorship election. Speakers at the rally emphasised that Edo State urgently needs leaders like Senator Monday Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa to correct the mistakes of the current administration, including alleged disrespect for traditional institutions and inadequate infrastructure.
At the grand finale rally, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje welcomed two prominent politicians from the PDP including Senator Francis Alemikhena and former Governorship aspirant, Omoregie Ogbeide-Iyama. While, the Action Alliance, AA Governorship candidate, Tom Iseghohi who had earlier aspired for the Labour Party, LP ticket declared support for APC’s Okpebholo.
