Edo State Government has taken an enlightenment campaign to the people of Edo Central Senatorial District on the need for them to take part in the continuous voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, billed to commence on May 27, 2024.

The message was conveyed on behalf of Governor Godwin Obaseki by his Chief of Staff, Osaigbovo Iyoha, at Ekpoma, Irrua, and Igueben.

To educate people on the essence of participating in the exercise, the Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration has taken a sensitisation message to indigenes of the five Local Government Areas that make up Edo Central Senatorial District.

Governor Obaseki is represented on the visit by his Chief of Staff, Osaigbovo Iyoha, who harps on the importance of the CVR.

For those eligible who do not have their voter’s card, he told them that the only way they can participate in the September 21, 2024 governorship election in the state is to take advantage of the window of opportunity provided by INEC.

The electoral umpire has announced that the continuous voter registration, which will last for ten days, will come to an end on June 5, 2024.
