Edo Govt. Declares War On Cultism, Kidnapping, Other Crimes

Against the backdrop of recent cult related killings in Edo State, the State Government has declared war on cultism and other related crimes in the state.

Governor Godwin Obaseki made this known after the monthly security council meeting, which held at Government house in Benin City.

The council meeting which was attended by Heads of the different Security Agencies, also reviewed incidents of kidnapping, armed robbery, vandalism, herdsmen attack, assault, and homicide.

Obaseki expresses regrets over the recent spate of cult clashes in the state, which has resulted in several deaths and notes that henceforth, the State Government will go hard on cultists.

The council thereafter inspected several vehicles and motorcycles donated by the Edo Government for a joint security taskforce and patrol.
