Edo Govt Sets up Lottery Regulatory Commission

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo

Governor Monday Okpebholo, has announced the creation of the Edo State Lottery Regulatory Commission.

The Commission will serve as the central regulatory body for all lottery, gaming, and related activities in the State, with key objectives to:

  • Establish a strong legal and institutional framework for lottery and gaming operations.
  • Promote transparency, accountability, and integrity in lottery activities.
  • Protect participants and the public by enforcing fair play and responsible gaming standards.
  • Boost state revenue through structured licensing and regulation of operators.

To drive this initiative, the Governor approved the nomination of the following individuals for appointment as chairman and members of the Commission:

  • Frank Okiye – Chairman
  • Dandy Imoukhuede Oserei – Member
  • Elvis Uadiale– Member
  • Ndidi Aghimien – Member
  • Habibat Yakubu – Secretary

The names of the nominees are to be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
