Governor Godwin Obaseki has called on traders in Edo State to turn out in their large numbers to vote for candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Saturday’s House of Assembly election.
He made this call when he paid a visit to major markets in Benin City to engage them on the need to have people-oriented Assembly for effective legislation.

Few days to the House of Assembly election in Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki has been campaigning vigorously for the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In this round of visits, his focus is the major markets in Benin City.
At New Benin, he meets with Igbo traders under the aegis of the Electronics and Computer Dealers Association.
Governor Obaseki assures traders that the State Government will fix the road around where they ply their trade.
He appealed to them to turn out en masse on March 11 to vote for candidates of the PDP.
President of the Association, Paul Ani speaks on behalf of the dealers.
He says previous promises made to them by the Governor were fulfilled and as such, they have no reason to doubt him.
Obaseki proceeds to Oba market along with the PDP flagbearers from Oredo to speak with the sellers.
He uses the opportunity to assess the burnt section of the market.
The next stop was the secretariat of the Association of tyre dealers and allied products at James Watt.
From there, he moved to Uwelu and Evbareke spare parts Markets in Egor Local Government Area where he is joined by the PDP contender from the area, Natasha Irobosa Osawaru.
The candidates give assurances that they will not disappoint the people if elected.
