Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, says his administration has initiated multiple infrastructure projects across the state made possible by increased federal allocations.

The governor made this known while inspecting several ongoing projects within Benin metropolis.

Governor Okpebholo began the inspection at the site of the long stretch of Evbukhu Road from where he proceeded to Ogheghe and then to Old Sapele Road, where he conducted a detailed inspection of the drainage systems to ensure the contractor is adhering to specifications.

Speaking to the Government House press afterwards, Governor Okpebholo said he had no choice than to launch multiple projects with the increased revenue.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for boosting the state’s revenue which made the projects possible.

When fully reconstructed, the Old Sapele Road is expected to serve as an alternative route to the main Sapele Road and reduce traffic congestion in the area.

The governor and his team later moved to Catholic Charismatic Way, off Upper Ekenhuan Road in Ugbiyoko to inspect ongoing work aimed at addressing the erosion problem affecting the residents.
