In honour of the late media magnate and philanthropist, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, the Edo State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ has announced that its flag in the State will fly at half-mast for seven days.
This decision was made known by the Chairman of the State Chapter, Festus Alenkhe, at the monthly Congress meeting which held at the NUJ Secretariat in Benin City.
As journalists from all parts of Edo State gather to honour High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, there was an air of deep reverence for the late Icon.

All attendees observed one-minute silence before the congress officially commenced as a mark of respect for him.
Chairman of State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Festus Alenkhe hailed the late Media Magnate, recognising him as a visionary leader who was steadfast and dedicated to transforming the media environment by promoting impartial reporting and fostering Nigeria’s democracy.
Journalists present also commended the legacy of Dokpesi as they appreciated his great achievements in society at large.
The Journalists proceeded to hoist the NUJ flag at half-mast as a sign of their high regard for the late Icon.
To provide an avenue for expressions of condolences, a special register was placed at the NUJ headquarters and DAAR Communications office in Benin.
Individuals are encouraged to sign and pay their respects to High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.
