Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress( APC) has announced dates for the primaries of the Governorship tickets for the party ahead of elections in Edo and Ondo States.
While the party fixed its primary in Edo State for Monday, June 22, 2020, it said that of aspirants in Ondo State will hold a month later on the 20th of July.
Nigeria’s electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) had earlier announced September 19, and October 20 for Governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States.
APC said the schedule for both primaries in the two affected states was in line with provisions of the Electoral Act 2020(as Amended) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines.
