The Edo State Police Command on Friday, rescued an 11-year-old boy, Onose Umasabor from his abductors, at Ososo in Akoko Edo local government area of the state.
According to a statement released by the Commands Public Relations Officer, Kontongs Bello, the Commissioner of Police Phillip Ogbadu, upon receiving a distress call from the members of the community, mobilized the operatives from the anti-kidnapping and cyber-crime unit of the command led by SP Patrick Balogun, on a rescue mission.
The Police, using high tech and intelligence gadgets then tracked the kidnappers to their hideout in the Uneme Erunu community of Akoko Edo local government area, where the boy was rescued unhurt, but not without a gun duel between the Police Operatives and the kidnappers, who fled into the bush with various degrees of injuries.

An operational motorcycle without a registration number and a Techno Android Phone was recovered at the scene of the crime.
The PPRO while reiterating the commitment of the Police in protecting the lives and property of the law-abiding citizens, also warned criminal elements of the resolve of the Commissioner of Police Phillip Ogbadu, never to allow Edo State to be a safe haven for criminals and their activities.
The Commissioner of Police further advised the general public, to make use of the Police Control Room Numbers (08037646272, 08123827225, 08056776365, and 08077773721) to report in times of distress.
