Edo police Parades Abuja based kidnapper, others

A 40-year-old ex-convict, Richard Abdullahi is presently in the custody of Edo state police for an alleged Armed robbery and kidnapping of a resident of Ekpoma in the state.

The suspect was among others involved in various crimes paraded by the Commissioner of police Nemi Edwin-Iwo as part of the command’s achievement in crime fighting in recent time.

Richard Abdulahi an ex convict from Kogi state with three of his gang members now at large invaded the home of one promise Ehichoya at Ekpoma in May of 2024 at about 2am and abducted him to an unknown destination.

They also took his car after which a ransom of six million naira was paid to the gang before they released the victim.

Commissioner of police, Edo state Nemi Edwin- Iwo says Operatives of Edo state command acting on technologically driven intelligence, trailed and arrested Richard Abdulahi at the Zone C Area of Apo resettlement quarters at Abuja.

The suspect, Richard Abdulahi an indigene of Kogi state, admited to the crime committed with his gang members.

Also at Ekpoma, three suspects and a receiver of stolen vehicles were arrested after a victim complained of the car being snatched at gun point.

The Commissioner of police who paraded them before journalists says the vehicle and a locally made pistol with two live cartridges were equally recovered from their possession.

The police commissioner used the opportunity to solicit the cooperation of citizens in giving useful information to the police that will lead to arrest of criminal elements.
