Edo State commissioner of police, Abutu Yaro has assured citizens of Edo state of safety following the robust security arrangements in the state.

The police boss stated this while speaking with journalists shortly after a consultative security meeting with Edo state government representatives, civil society organisations, the Nigerian Bar Association and other key players players on Saturday.

He commended Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki for the support in providing relevant logistics to carry on with the job, including the installation of closed Circuit TV Cameras at strategic areas in the state.

The security consultative meeting which was one of such that had taken place in the three senatorial Districts of Edo state in the last three months was to sensitise relevant stakeholders on innovations in the security architecture of the state.

The commissioner of police Abutu Yaro at whose instance the meeting was held says the support of governor Godwin Obaseki in providing operational vehicles and other logistics has made it possible to come up with new strategies and reforms to curb incidents of kidnappings, not only on the Benin- Auchi road but also other roads which had become notorious for the kidnapping of road users.

Speaking on the open grazing law recently assented to by governor Godwin Obaseki in Edo state, Abutu says modalities for its implementation are in progress.

The resolve at the end of the meeting is for stakeholders to support the Edo State Police Command in actualising the mandate of securing the state.
