Edo State Government has affirmed that the State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Anthony Aziegbemi has been kidnapped.
A statement released by the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, reveals that the State Government and security agencies are on top of the situation and working round the clock to ensure his safe return.
He says surveillance has been increased and security measures beefed up across the State to ensure that these criminal activities are brought to an end and culprits are made to face the full wrath of the law.
Nehikhare wants residents to go about their lawful businesses without fear and urges them to call the State emergency numbers, one one two or seven three nine to report all suspicious persons or activities within their environs.
