In the quarter-final clash of the 2026 President Federation Cup in Edo State between Ine Stars FC and Alhaji FC, Friday Omoregie of Ine Stars FC emerged as the Prostar Man of the Match following an outstanding performance that proved crucial to his team’s success.
Omoregie’s influence was felt across the pitch as he played a key role in Ine Stars’ dominance, earning recognition from the Administrator of the Raphael Akowe Foundation, Sunny Enaifoghe, who presented the award in appreciation of his impactful display.
Ine Stars FC went on to secure a convincing 3-0 victory over Alhaji FC at the UBTH Sports Complex in Benin City, showcasing superiority in possession and attacking play throughout the encounter. Emmanuel Chinaka opened the scoring in the 28th minute, Friday Omoregie extended the lead in the 37th minute, while Afolayan Timi sealed the win in the 55th minute to book Ine Stars FC’s place in the semi-finals.
In the second quarter-final fixture of the 2026 President Federation Cup in Edo State between Benin Warriors FC and WestGate FC, Tijani Mohammed of Benin Warriors FC was named the Prostar Man of the Match for his impressive performance, standing out despite his team’s narrow defeat.
The award was presented by 1st Vice Chairman of the Edo State Referee Council, Prince Daniel Iruero in recognition of his outstanding contribution during the encounter.
