Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu says the State Government has received intelligence reports that some persons have arrived the State with the intent of causing mayhem in the build-up to the September 19 Governorship election.
Speaking at a media briefing in Benin City, the Deputy Governor claimed that the persons were recruited by the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole and have been given clear instructions on what to do to prominent persons in the State.
He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to charge the security agencies to be proactive in the build up to the election.
Shaibu assures that the State Government will not shy away from its responsibility of protecting the lives and properties of the people.
