Edo State Government has restated its determination to ensure the safety of lives and property of all residents in the state through the provision of adequate security to tackle the challenges of armed robbery, kidnapping, and murder, especially on the highways.

This was made known after a joint security meeting in Ehor, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of the State after the youths had protested the incessant attacks on indigenes by suspected armed Herdsmen.

For residents of Ehor in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area, the dangers posed by suspected armed Herdsmen have become too much to bear.
Last week, they took to the major road linking Ekpoma, Auchi to Abuja protesting what they described as a frequent occurrence of armed robbery, kidnapping and sometimes murder.
Their lamentation caught the attention of the Edo State Government and Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu who is in the locality with the Representatives of the different security agencies to reach a consensus on the best way to handle the issue.

Commissioner of Police Philip Ogbadu and Co-ordinator of the State Community Vigilante Security Network, Haruna Yusuf, say a lot will be done to change the narrative

Chairman of the traditional rulers in Uhunmwode, David Igiehon acknowledged the response of the state government.

It is the hope of all that the measures that will be taken will bring about lasting peace in the Area.
