Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has called for sustained support and partnership from the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC to fast track the resolution of critical infrastructural deficits in the state.
The Governor made the appeal while hosting the Managing Director and other top officials of the Commission at Government House, Benin City, ahead of the upcoming Niger Delta Games to be hosted by Edo State in Benin City in February 2026.

Welcoming the delegation led by the NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Governor Okpebholo assured that Edo State is fully prepared and will work towards emerging victorious in the competition.
Ogbuku highlighted the commission’s achievements and reaffirmed its readiness for the forthcoming Niger Delta Games.
Nine Niger Delta states of Delta, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Edo, Abia, Rivers, Cross River, Bayelsa, and Ondo will participate in the February 2026 event, tagged “Beyond Oil: Harnessing Talents.”
