Eight persons arrested in connection with the train station attack at Ekekhen community in Igueben local government area of Edo state have been charged to court by the Edo state command of the Nigeria police.
In a copy of pleadings signed by Barrister I. E Ekibade on behalf of the legal section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department SCIID, the state Commissioner of police was the complainant in the filed case, praying the court to serve justice to the eight suspects because they committed an offence punishable under the Kidnapping Prohibition Amendment Law of the state.

The suspects in the case namely Ibadin Hamilton, Ighoko Mustapher Odion, Okojie Dominic Ewa, Ojie Patrick, Friday Ighedujiemu, Halilu Umaru, Aminu Ibrahim and Isah Aliyu were charged with the January seventh kidnapping of several persons at the Ekekhen train station in Igueben to an unknown destination with the intention of collecting a ransom of twenty million Naira before their release.
Meanwhile The Police Public relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor has explained that the appearance of the suspects in court was to get an exparte order to enable the police extend the detention of the suspects for a period of fourteen days for further investigation.
The Edo state government had announced the release of all abductees of the train station attack and assured citizens of continuous protection against criminal elements.
