The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released its scorecard fir the past one year, stating ays it has recovered an over N248.750 billion in the last one year.
The Chairman of the Nigerian anti-graft body, the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede who disclosed this at a Media briefing in Abuja also said that over 105 million foreign currencies were also recovered within the same period.
Olukoyede who also disclosed that 3,455 convictions were secured in the year under review, however stresses the importance of keeping the public informed of the Commission’s operations.
The EFCC Chairman was represented by the Director of Public Affairs, Wilson Uwujaren at the Media parleiy, explained that the recovered foreign currencies were returned to victims in September 2024, and 53 vehicles recovered for victims of cybercrimes were among other returns made by the EFCC.
Speaking further, Uwujaren stated that in the area of collaborations, the Commission has recorded great strides as its Chairman is now the President of the Network of National Anti-corruption Institutions in West Africa (NACIWA) and that Olukoyede’s move to stimulate the Economy has led to the establishment of a Special Task Force, which has presence in all the States across the country.

The EFCC spokesman added that in the area of Institutional reforms, Olukoyede on resumption of office, demanded that staff declare their assets, which means that anyone who seeks equity must come with clean hands.
According to him, the reforms included changes and restructuring in some departments, while other new departments were created, including the changing zonal commands to directorates.
He mentioned that three new offices in Ekiti, Kaduna and Anambra States have been created which will start operations in a couple of months, as he also said that a Public complaints unit has been instituted to bridge the gaps with the public in all the Commission’s offices, including an E-learning management studio which was launched at the EFCC Academy, to improve on their learning and research systems.
