The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has called on the people of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states to provide the anti-graft agency with useful information about any contractors or government agencies who have siphoned the fund meant to reconstruct the deplorable Calabar Itu Federal roads with a promise to prosecute and convict them if found guilty.

The Uyo Zonal Head of the EFCC, Uchenna Edeh, stated this while speaking on the deplorable situation of the road during his team’s visit to NUJ press Centre in Calabar.

Uchenna said the resources accrued to various projects in the Niger Delta region must be monitored and reported by journalists, promising that the EFCC is going to partner with the media to expose Criminals who thrive on the citizen’s Commonwealth for their personal use.

While calling on the citizens to wake up to their responsibilities, the Zonal EFCC boss said his office is open to receive petitions directly or through anonymity on any established economic crimes for investigation, prosecution and conviction.

While assuring that the time of cybercrimes fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Yahoo boys are over, the EFCC Zonal Head said 18 of them have been convicted in the last two months with more to come in the days ahead.
