…Full Endorsement for Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s Re-Election
In a powerful, history-making gathering that shook the political landscape of Rivers State, the Rivers Grassroot Movement (RGM) has thunderously declared its total and unwavering support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, hailing his bold transformations across the South-South region as a game-changer for the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
The non-partisan movement, whose members cut across all political parties and are deeply rooted in every community in Rivers State, also passionately called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to contest for a second term, praising his “Rivers People First” philosophy that has brought peace, equity, and sustainable development.
High Chief Amb. Sobomabo Jackrich, National Leader of RGM, delivered the stirring declaration at the mega rally held at Isaac Boro Park, drawing thousands of enthusiastic supporters from across the 23 local government areas.
“Our gathering today is not just historic; it is a loud statement that Rivers people are united in one voice and one purpose to advance the Renewed Hope Mandate,” Jackrich declared amid roaring applause.
The endorsement, born out of wide consultations and careful observation of the national and state political terrain, rests firmly on verifiable achievements rather than mere sentiment.
Under President Tinubu’s visionary leadership, long-abandoned infrastructure dreams in the South-South are becoming reality.
The Bonny-Bodo Road, a critical artery that previous administrations could not complete despite Bonny’s strategic role in Nigeria’s economy, has now been delivered and opened for public use.
The President’s swift approval of Phase Two, which will link the road directly to the East-West Road, promises full economic integration for coastal communities and accelerated development.
Equally transformative is the ambitious Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, one of the largest and most expensive infrastructure initiatives in the nation’s history.
Spanning approximately 750 kilometres across South-South states, this mega project is advancing rapidly and is set to create a lucrative economic corridor that will generate massive benefits for Rivers State and the entire region through enhanced trade, tourism, and connectivity.

President Tinubu’s commitment to the Niger Delta shone brightly with the signing into law of the South-South Development Commission (Establishment) Act, 2025, a landmark legislation designed to drive industrial growth, job creation, and social advancement while tackling ecological challenges.
Complementing this, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has been revitalised under the leadership of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, with increased budgetary support enabling aggressive project execution that touches the most vulnerable communities.
The “Operation Light Up the Niger Delta” programme is bringing renewable energy and improved security to remote areas, while the near-completion of the iconic 1.2-kilometre Kaa-Ataba Bridge linking Khana and Andoni Local Government Areas stands as a shining legacy.
In recognition of his outstanding performance, RGM formally bestowed on Dr. Samuel Ogbuku the prestigious award of Trustee of the movement.
Security and economic gains have equally impressed the group. The retention of Tantita Security Services for pipeline surveillance has proven a masterstroke, reversing the drastic drop in crude production caused by vandalism and restoring output to approximately 1.8 million barrels per day.
This recovery has safeguarded national revenue, revived aquatic life, and created over 10,000 direct jobs for Niger Delta youths through inclusive stakeholder engagement.
Jackrich further commended President Tinubu’s bold advocacy for constitutional amendments to establish State Police, a timely move to strengthen security architecture nationwide.

The President’s decisive intervention in Rivers State’s recent political crisis also earned deep gratitude for rescuing democratic institutions and restoring stability.
Turning to state leadership, the RGM applauded Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s dedication to sustainable development and his people-centred governance.
“His focus on peace, equity, and prosperity has endeared him to Rivers people,” the leader stated, urging the Governor to seek re-election to consolidate the gains already recorded.
The movement also acknowledged the pivotal role of Mr. Seyi Tinubu through the City Boy Movement in bridging the gap between the Presidency and Nigerian youths, fostering inclusive participation.
RGM announced its collaboration with the City Boy Movement and proudly declared President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Grand Patron of the Rivers Grassroot Movement, while naming Mr. Seyi Tinubu as Patron in recognition of his youth mobilisation efforts.
In a firm and unambiguous declaration, RGM affirmed that no other candidate possesses the political strength, national appeal, and proven capacity to deliver victory for Rivers State and the South-South in 2027 like President Tinubu.
The group urged all patriotic citizens to rally behind the continuity of the Renewed Hope Agenda to secure a peaceful and prosperous future for the Niger Delta and Nigeria.
Reaffirming its independence as a non-partisan platform guided solely by principle and competence, RGM requested an audience with President Tinubu to formallywedr present its position.
“This is about securing our tomorrow through visionary leadership that is already transforming our region,” Jackrich concluded to thunderous cheers.
The mega rally, which also formalised RGM’s alignment with broader national movements, signals a significant consolidation of grassroots support for President Tinubu’s second term and Governor Fubara’s continued leadership in Rivers State.
As the South-South positions itself at the forefront of national progress, RGM’s bold stance underscores a region ready to reap even greater dividends from purposeful governance.
