The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has initiated comprehensive measures to ensure safe and smooth travels during the 2025 Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

A statement by the Sector Commander RS4.2 Benue Sector Corps Commander Steve Ayodele indicates that the special patrol operation commenced on Thursday, March 27, and will continue through Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

to include the deployment of personnel.

A further breakdown reveals that about 3000 regular and special marshals have been mobilized across the State to manage traffic flow and enforce road safety regulations.

The FRSC said it has deployed patrol vehicles, ambulances, administrative vehicles, and tow trucks. Additionally, radar guns are being utilized to monitor and control speed violations.

Ayodele said strict adherence to traffic laws will be enforced, targeting offenses such as excessive speed, overloading, dangerous driving, and use of mobile phones while driving adding that mobile courts have been constituted nationwide to expedite the prosecution of traffic violators.

Also the FRSC says emergency Ambulance, and Road Side Clinics have been provided for prompt rescue and medical assistance in case of road incidents.

Ayodele emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in reducing road traffic crashes and ensuring a hitch-free Sallah celebration.

He maintained that the command is intensifying public education and enlightenment campaigns to promote safe driving practices.

The sector commander encouraged travelers to plan their journeys, avoid night travel, and ensure their vehicles are in good condition.

Motorists and the general public can report emergencies or seek assistance through the FRSC’s toll-free number 122.
