The Nigerian Army has praised the courage and resilience of troops on the frontline who are sacrificing to defend the country’s territorial integrity.
Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, expressed his appreciation during a Sallah luncheon for troops of Operation Whirl Punch in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
This year’s Eid-el-Kabir festivity is a solemn time for the Nigerian Army to reflect on its efforts over the past years to restore peace across the country.

Birnin Gwari, a hotspot for banditry activities, was chosen by the Nigerian Army to celebrate Sallah with frontline troops.
Major General Mayirenso Saraso, conveying the Chief of Army Staff’s message, commended the troops for their bravery and resilience in the face of danger, emphasising that their sacrifices will not go unnoticed.
The Army Chief also praised Nigerians for their steadfast belief and support for the Army, assuring that the military is open to collaboration to end all forms of insecurity and foster an environment conducive to economic prosperity and other democratic dividends.
General Lagbaja urged Nigerian Army personnel and their families to renew their commitment to personal sacrifice for the growth and development of Nigeria.
