The Muslim community in Rivers State has applauded Governor Sim Fubara for his commitment to protecting the rights of Muslims and adherents of other religions to freely practice their religion without intimidation or destruction of their places of worship.

Speaking when he led delegation of Muslims on a solidarity visit to the Government House Port Harcourt, Vice President General of the Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs Nasir Uhor says, Governor Fubara’s decisive stand on religious matters has positively enhanced inter-religious tolerance and promoted mutual understanding between Christians and Muslims

He says his administration will consider the request made for the construction of a state worship centre for Muslims.
