No fewer than eight persons have been killed by unidentified gunmen who were said to have attacked the convoy of the Emir of Kaura Namoda on Thursday night on the Zaria – Funtua road.
The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Usman Nagogo has confirmed the attack.
The Emir was said to be returning from Abuja to Zamfara State, when his convoy was attacked at a stretch between the Zaria – Funtua Road.
According to the report, the Emir was said to have escaped into the bush unhurt, during the ambush by the gunmen.

The eight persons killed were said to be the occupants of a Toyota Hilux in the convoy.
They include three police men and five Palace staff.
