The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Ekiti State Command, today stopped what could have led to a Herder/Farmer bloodbath in the State, following the quick intervention of the Agro Ranger Unit of the Command.
Speaking to the media shortly after the crisis was averted, the State Commandant, Solomon Iyamu, narrated how farmland was encroached by Cows in Ikere Ekiti, which led to his men being invited to arrest the situation and Consequently 16 Cows were taken away by his men, as the Herders took to their heels.

According to him, it took the intervention of his Men to avert what could have been a blood shed between the owners of the farms and the Herders as Members of the Community Complained of intimidation and use of Dangerous Weapon on anyone that refuses to allow their cows to graze on their Farms.
He expressed fears that Food Security is being threatened with incessant attacks on Farmlands in the State.
