The ad hoc committee established by the Kaduna State House of Assembly to investigate finances, loans, and contracts awarded under former Governor Nasir El-Rufai has submitted its report.
During the plenary session on Wednesday, the Committee Chairman, Henry Zacharia, presented the findings.
He said that many loans obtained during the El-Rufai’s administration were not utilised for their intended purposes, and due process was often by-passed.

The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman, who received the report, revealed that a total of N423 billion was allegedly syphoned by the El-Rufai’s administration, leaving the state with substantial liabilities.
The committee recommended that El-Rufai and other implicated cabinet members be investigated and prosecuted by security and anti-corruption agencies for abuse of office, including awarding contracts without due process, diverting public funds, and money laundering.
Recall that in April, a 13-man committee was set up to investigate loans, grants, and project implementations from 2015 to 2023, during El-Rufai’s tenure as governor.
