The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has called on Nigerians to make inputs into the proposed electoral act amendment through their representatives in the National Assembly.
According to Lawan, presiding officers do not determine workings of committees of both chambers on the electoral act amendment bill.

Lawan also disclosed plans by the National Assembly to amend the public complaints commission Act to meet present reality and global best practice.
This is as the leadership of the national Assembly inaugurated 38 Commissioners of the Public Complaints commission
stating that the National Assembly will amend relevant provisions in the PCC Act,
The senate president further reminded the commissioners of the need to use instruments provided by the Act, to strengthen good governance.
According to him, “millions of Nigerians face excruciating challenges in getting their rights and privileges in their work places
He also revealed that the National Assembly would ensure adequate provisions are made in the amended act to allow for sanctions against those who deliberately refuse to comply with resolutions of invitation from the commission.
He further urged the new heads to embark on rigorous public awareness campaigns to inform Nigerians about the commission’s activities.
In his remarks, The Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, urged the appointees “to bring to play all the necessary ingredients needed in public administration for the workers protection irrespective of religious or ethnic inclinations.
Chief Commissioner of the PCC, Abimbola Yusuf, pledged to work with the National Assembly to amend the PCC Act to achieve efficiency in the mandate of the commission.
The Public Complaints Commission Act 2014 was promulgated as Decree 31 of 1975 with a core mandate to protect the right of citizens and as a machinery for control of administrative excesses.
