Civil society organizations have commenced mobilization of Nigerians to put more pressure on members of the National Assembly harmonization committee on electoral act to adopt the House of Representatives version of the ongoing electoral reform amendment bill.

This is Coming days after the three days #occuppyNASS Protest, which compelled the senate to adopt the mandatory real-time electronic transmission of results from polling units to INEC’s portal with some provisions.

After the senate reversed its decision by approving the e-transmission of results on clause 60 subsection 3 of the electoral amendment bill, Actionaid, Yiaga Africa and host of other civil society groups re-convened in Abuja at an expert meeting and citizens’townhall to strategize on mounting pressure on the legislators, particularly the National Assembly harmonization committee members on electoral act amendment bill.
