Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his decision to withhold assent of the electoral act amendment bill with particular reference to the mode of primaries to be adopted by political parties.
Governor Ortom who made the commendation in Makurdi, the state capital wants the President to apply the same method in dealing with other issues of greater concerns such as economic and security matters.
The President’s decision not to sign the electoral act amendment bill receives quite applause from the Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom who had earlier appealed to him to reconsider the assent.
Ortom went futher to give reasons for supporting the President’s decision and appealed to the national assembly to hasten the review clause on direct primaries to allow political parties to decide on the mode of primaries in accordance with their capabilities.

The chief executive of the State equally wants President Buhari to apply the same attitude of deeper consultation to achieve better results in the area of security as well as the deteriorating economic situation in the country.
He pledged to continue to commend policies in the interest of the country and criticize those targeted at disunity and injustice.
