Cross River State Governor, Prof Ben Ayade says one of the major problems causing insecurity, youth restiveness and infrastructure decay In the country is poor power supply which is largely caused by the Distribution companies across the country.
Ayade stated this when he received the management of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) in his office led by its Executive vice chairman Babatunde Irukera.
The Governor said poor power distribution and the corruption in the system have become major challenges to Nigeria’s small and medium scale businesses,which has so negatively affected the economy
On his part, the executive vice chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC),Babatunde Irukera said the team was in the stateto slovle problems concerning poor service delivery by electricity distribution companies (DisCos)among others.
The four-day Electricity Consumer Complaint Resolution Platform in Calabar, allows consumers within the franchise area of Port-Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) to complain about their billing, metering, disconnection, transformers and customer services.
