The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has ordered the State Security Service to immediately release Aminu Idris-Yaro and one Saadatu Ramallan-Yaro who have been in custody of the State Security Service since July 12, 2023.
Yaro and his wife had been detained in Connection With the Alleged Multi-billion-naira Fraud against the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
Justice Edward OKPE while ruling on an exparte application brought before the court by the applicant’s counsel, Joseph Daudu, also in an interim order restrained the Respondents whether by themselves or by their Servants, officers, agents or previews or otherwise from arresting or administering any inhuman or degrading treatment on the Applicant pending the determination of the Application for the enforcement of their Fundamental Rights.

Another respondent in the suit is the Attorney General of the federation.
While adjourning the substantive matter to July 31, 2023, the trial Judge made a consequential order for the respondents to be served the order before the next adjourned date.
