The Emir of Maru in Zamfara State, Abubakar Maigari, wants the government and security agencies to clampdown on bandits’ informants who are the people responsible for the prevailing insecurity in the state.
The Zamfara monarch made the call while hosting the Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro at his Palace in Maru Local Government.
He was there to interact on the best solutions to the attacks and abduction in the state.
He lamented the way the bandits’ informants are moving freely in the communities, feeling untouchable.
As part of the efforts and commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to nip in the bud, insecurity in Zamfara State, the Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, has presented to the traditional rulers and other stakeholders, the Implementation Committee of Peace Deal, to be chaired by the Chief Imam of the state’s Police Command.
He reassured the various communities of police efforts, and those of other security agencies, to bring the pockets of attacks under control, and to ensure peace across the state.
He says, “continuous engagement with critical stakeholders, he believes, is one of the ways to address the lingering insecurity in Zamfara State”
The Emir of Maru, Abubakar Maigari said, bandits’ informants are the people posing security threats to lives and property.

He enjoined security operatives to clamp down on them to secure the various communities from the hands of the criminals.
The Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, also met with Fulani groups, farmers, traditional rulers, and police personnel in Maru and Bakura Local Governments, to highlight the need for peaceful coexistence.
