Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, says the strength of any society is measured by the opportunities it creates for its young population.
The Governor stated this at the maiden Cross River Youth Convergence held in Calabar, the State capital with the theme: “Driving Productivity and Youths Inclusion Through Strategic Partnerships in Cross River State”.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Youths Development, Ijom Ukam, Governor Otu said the convergence signals a new phase for youths empowerment, innovation, and shared progress in the State.
He noted that the theme is not just timely but deeply relevant, as Cross River State seeks to unlock the creativity, energy, and enterprise of its youthful population to accelerate growth.
The convergence also featured keynote speeches and panel sessions where speakers, challenged young people to build networks, create a central database, and embrace digital platforms that would connect them to government programmes and business opportunities.
With the launch of the new initiative and a renewed call for unity, the maiden Cross River Youths Convergence has set the stage for a new era of inclusion, productivity, and leadership, positioning the state’s youths as key drivers of innovation and sustainable development.
