The remains of the wife of the immediate past senator who represented Edo North Senatorial District in the Senate, Hgh Chief Monica Alimikhena has been laid to rest at Igiode, Etsako East local government area of the state amidst tributes, emotions, tears and agony.
Dignitaries and family members of Senator Alimikhena present described the late sexagenarian as a great chief and a true mother who had high regard for family values and the downtrodden.
The final journey home of late High Chief Monica Alimikhena started with a funeral mass at the Holy Family Catholic church Igiode Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo state.
The church was filled to capacity with an array of dignitaries from all walks of life which included the husband of the late sexagenarian, Senator Francis Alimikhena, children, family members, the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, his deputy Philip Shaibu, the chairman of DAAR Communications PLC, Raymond Dokpesi Jr., and other bigwigs.
Done with the funeral mass, the body of late Monica Alimikhena departed the church for interment.
It was a carnival-like procession of the body of the late High Chief of Uwanno Kingdom, as the the corpse was moved to the private residence of the widower in his hometown in Igiode.

At the graveside, emotions were high, tears, agony and hugs of consolation dominated the scene as the body was finally committed to Mother Earth.
Late High Chief Monica Alimikhena was the Iye Iyase of Uwanno kingdom in Agenebode, Edo State.
She is survived by children, grandchildren and husband.
Her husband, Senator Francis Alimikhena was the Deputy Chief Whip of the 8th Nigerian Senate and the Iyase of the Uwanno kingdom. Late Monica who died at the age of 69, was the elder sister of the Group Managing Director of DAAR Communications PLC, High Chief Anegbe Tony Akiotu.
