In the light of the ongoing nationwide protest, the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Kaduna State chapter has urged its members across the State to provide emergency services.
Kaduna State Chairman of the NMA, Dr. Madaki Sheyin, made the appeal at a News conference in Kaduna on Tuesday, where he observed that this is a critical time for both the nation and its healthcare providers.
The NMA noted that economic policies are affecting everyone, with the nationwide protest further exacerbating the hardship.
It therefore urged its members across Kaduna State to continue providing medical services amidst the protest, emphasizing the importance of healthcare during these challenging times.
The Association also lamented the increasing incidents of kidnapping of its members, highlighting the continued captivity of Dr. Ganiyat Popoola, a Resident Doctor who was kidnapped over seven months ago at his National Eye Centre Kaduna hospital residence.
The NMA commended the State government for remodeling General Hospitals across the State despite the huge financial crisis.
